Community Service Opportunity

The CNHS PTSO is sponsoring a card drive program to show our support and gratitude for US Military, Veterans and Service Families throughout the year.  We will be working with Military Mama Network (MMN), a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to support our troops, veterans and their families.

Program:  Provide personalized Holiday and Greeting Cards to be sent to US Military, Veterans and Service Families

Cards:  Cards can be handmade or store bought.  Military Mama Network sends greeting cards monthly, as needed and Holiday cards are collected year-round to ensure they are ready to be mailed at least 6 weeks prior to the Holiday.  Please see flyer for more info - click on image for a pdf of the flyer.

Community Service Hours*:

1 CS Hour  -  20 Holiday Cards

1 CS Hour  -  5  Individual Greeting Cards or Notes with a Forever Stamp on the envelope (Although the group is a non-profit, they still incur over $3,000 in postage for their card mission. Putting a stamp on the Greeting card envelope will be a big help for them)

Collection:  The PTSO will collect Greeting and Holiday cards at the end of each month. Please be sure to group the cards together and include a separate note and email address, so we can confirm receipt and note awarded CS hours.  Cards can be dropped off in the box outside the front office or the school store.

Don’t underestimate the value of a homemade card, handwritten message or simple greeting.  This is our opportunity to show our appreciation for our service member’s their sacrifices, boost their morale and lift their spirits during these difficult times. Also, an opportunity to provide encouragement and support to the service families often overlooked and frequently unacknowledged.  A few moments of your time can bring joy will last a lifetime.
